About Nico
I am Nicolas Curley LMHC, a psychotherapist and wellness coach who works with people seeking more clarity, self-understanding, and freedom from the patterns that keep them stuck. I aim to create a space where you can speak honestly, reflect more deeply, and begin making changes that feel meaningful in everyday life.
My Approach
I see therapy as both practical and exploratory. Sometimes we need tools for managing anxiety, mood, or difficult habits in the present. At other times, we need to slow down and understand the deeper emotional patterns, beliefs, and relational experiences that have shaped how we live.
My work draws from cognitive and insight-oriented approaches, along with mindfulness and emotionally focused work. I try to adapt therapy to the person sitting in front of me, their strengths, their history, and the kind of life they want to build.
A whole-person perspective
I am especially interested in the connection between mental health and the body. Emerging research on the gut-brain connection and nutrition suggests that mood, stress resilience, and cognitive well-being can be shaped in part by the broader systems that support daily life, including sleep, nourishment, inflammation, and metabolic health.
In therapy, it means staying curious about the full picture of your life and making room to talk about health habits, energy, routine, and self-care as part of your emotional well-being when relevant.
Working with men
I also care deeply about helping men develop a healthier and more flexible relationship with masculinity. Many men have been taught to suppress vulnerability, over-identify with performance or control, and struggle privately rather than reach for support. Therapy can be a place to step outside those pressures and develop a more honest, grounded, and self-respecting way of being.
This may involve work around relationships, shame, confidence, anger, loneliness, sexuality, purpose, or identity. My goal is to help each person build a version of masculinity that is integrated, relational, and true to who they are.
Background
I work with adults, teens, couples, and families, and I have experience helping people with anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship struggles, self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. I offer a free consultation so we can talk about what you are looking for and whether we feel like a good fit to work together.
I offer therapy in English and French.
